We keep everything on google calendars – one for each family member – and it gets synced to my phone. But, like you, I’m visual and I must write something down if I am ever going to remember it. So I made a little command center in my kitchen (fancy white board). Each Sunday I write on the white board the upcoming calendared events for that week – each person has their own dry erase color. The whiteboard is kid height so they can look at the “week at a glance” too. It has been enormously helpful for us to remember not only the big things (doctor appointments, etc) but also things like “take cookies to Charlotte’s class.” Plus I love the little notes the kids add to the calendar.

this is timely – Carolyn and I were talking last night that we’re in the valley, Her “part-time, work from home job” has turned into a full-on, growing business. The day to day of raising a family, working and pursuing other interests and passions are starting to wear us down. We’ve got a little get away weekend “planned” for the end of March in Black Mountain. Hopefully we can make it til then! Keep writing. This blog is my virtual “last word”
